Holiday traditions. A lot of families have them. As a little kid, I remember we always had Christmas at Aunt Grace's. Then the adults would have a night cap at Gram's or Uncle Jim's place. I'd be dragged along and bored. I just wanted to go home and play with Christmas Presents. My Mom and I would also usually ride the bus to the mall on Christmas Eve. Mainly for the bus ride and to people watch.

Now my wife and I have our traditions too. At Christmas: Presents, then breakfast. Usually pancakes with the top ones shaped like our initials RC and KC. After dinner it's the annual viewing of "Christmas Vacation". And New Years Eve, we usually watch Hitchcock's Classic "Rear Window".

Now it's your turn, share your family's holiday traditions with me. Also share with me any Quad Cities traditions you participate in. Do you always go to the Festival of Trees parade? Do you see Ballet Quad-Cities "The Nutcracker" every year? Is there any holiday celebration my wife Kathy and I should look at making part of our holiday tradition?
