An Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper successfully performed the Heimlich Maneuver on a man who tried to swallow a baggie of marijuana after he was pulled over for speeding on Saturday.

Ohio State Patrol Sgt. Ray Santiago says Trooper Charles Hoskin conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle spotted traveling at 94mph in a 70mph zone, and the driver was also not wearing a seatbelt.

Dash cam video shows Hoskin asking the driver, "Can you breathe?" after he pulls him over. Hoskin helps the man out of the car, and performed the Heimlich Maneuver on him until he spit out a bag of marijuana. The man then started apologizing to the trooper.

"Do you want to die over a minor misdemeanor?" Hoskins asked the guy after he stopped choking and started to recover. EMS was called to the scene to make sure he was going to be okay.

Watch the OHP Trooper perform the Heimlich:

Santiago said the man received a citation for speeding and failure to wear a seatbelt. He also received a misdemeanor summons for illegal marijuana and was released to the scene.
