The storm that ripped through Iowa last week has left an estimated $4 billion in damages and destroyed 13 million acres of corn and more.

According to Fox Business, Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds announced Sunday night that she will be filing an expedited presidential major disaster declaration with the federal government.

From cities to farms, Iowans are hurting, many still have challenges with shelter, food, and power," Reynolds said in a statement. "Resilience is in our DNA, but we’re going to need a strong and timely federal response to support recovery efforts.

The Iowa Hype Kid would like your help, as well.

Jason Mason and his son, Matthew, made an Iowa Hype Video last year after the Iowa Hawkeyes had George Kittle on the jumbotron before the season opener.  The video went viral.  Watch it HERE.

Now Matthew, aka the "Iowa Hype Kid", wants to help Iowans in need.

"Iowa nice is our thing!" says Matthew in the video.

Although, most of the residents tin the QCA have gotten their power restored, thousands of Iowans are still without power and running water.  Specifically in the Cedar Rapids area.  It is time that we give back to our state residents in need.

Here are some of the items that Matthew is asking you to donate:

-Tarps
-Batteries
-Flashlights
-Gas Cans
-Bar and Chain Oil
-Non-perishable Food
-Ice
-Extension Cords
-Candles

If you would like to give a monetary donation, please watch the video below and give to one of the links provided.

We need more "Iowa Hype Kids" in this world.
