The SHARP shooter, brought to you by Elite Sportsbook and Rhythm City Casino is our daily blog that will find the best bets the sharps on on for each day.

Sharps, in gambling terms, are the professionals in the gambling industry.  Rarely do the sharps fall on the "fun" bets like betting on the favorites or betting on the over total.  The sharps usually go against public popular line-- taking advantage of inflated lines and mismatched numbers due to a large percentage of public bets on a certain play.

The easiest spots to find sharp plays are in nationally televised games, primetime games, and big games between popular teams with, teams with star players and rivals that get a lot of air time during the week on sports media.

It is important that you do your own homework and look at trends, as well.  Simply going contrarian against the popular public bet won't always be profitable.  Find the games that work best for your bet and your budget.  Pay attention to sharp trends-- you rarely want to be on the wrong side of the pros.

HERE IS A LOOK AT SOME PRO ACTION IN NFL, NCAA, AND MLB:

7:20 P.M. CST: Philadelphia Eagles (1-2) at Green Bay Packers (3-0)

The public sees the Packers sitting at 3-0 and just saw the Eagles lose to the Lions at HOME last Sunday so they are big on the Packers.  So much that the heavy public betting moved the line from an opening -3.5 home Packer favorites to -5.5.  The sharps jumped in on the points and moved it back down to where it has settled at -4.5.  The PROS are taking the points.

The total opened at 47 moved down to 46.  Early weather reports had winds as high as 9 MPH during game time and sharps jumped the under.  Forecast is now for a mild evening wind and the total has jumped up to 48.

7:00 P.M. CST: Navy (2-0) at Memphis (3-0)

The total in this Thursday night ESPN game opened at 55 but with PROS backing the UNDER it has fallen to 54.  Navy's triple option is a time consumer that benefits the UNDER.  The UNDER is 2-0 is Navy's first two games and 2-1 in Memphis' first three games.

Both the PROS and the JOES are backing the Navy Midshipmen and have moved the favorite Memphis Tigers from -11.5 to -10.5.
