The SHARP Shooter: MONDAY Night Football 10/14 Best Bets
Sharps, in gambling terms, are the professionals in the gambling industry. Rarely do the sharps fall on the "fun" bets like betting on the favorites or betting on the over total. The sharps usually go against public popular line-- taking advantage of inflated lines and mismatched numbers due to a large percentage of public bets on a certain play.
The easiest spots to find sharp plays are in nationally televised games, primetime games, and big games between popular teams with, teams with star players and rivals that get a lot of air time during the week on sports media.
It is important that you do your own homework and look at trends, as well. Simply going contrarian against the popular public bet won't always be profitable. Find the games that work best for your bet and your budget. Pay attention to sharp trends-- you rarely want to be on the wrong side of the pros.
LET'S TAKE A LOOK WHAT THE SHARPS ARE DOING....
7:15 P.M. CST, ESPN: Detroit Lions (2-1-1) at Green Bay Packers (4-1)
Despite opening at Packers -6 and 65% of the tickets on the home team, this line has fallen to Packers -3.5. This is a signal that the PROS are backing the divisional, road dog Detroit Lions.
So far on the season, gambling dogs are now 53-32-2 Against The Spread. Road dogs are now 40-20-1 ATS and divisional dogs are now 17-10 ATS.
The Lions are coming off a BYE week, so they have the extra rest and extra time to game plan. Detroit is currently 3-1 ATS.
6:30 P.M. CST, tbs: St. Louis Cardinals vs Washington Nationals
The Nationals take a 2-0 series lead to their home field. St. Louis is struggling to score runs after taking out the Atlanta Braves in the NLDS. Stephen Strasburg is ridiculous in the postseason-- 1.32 ERA with 45 K's in 38.0 innings pitched.
Jack Flaherty has been pitching like an ace for the Cardinals since the All Star Break. This will be his first start in a NLCS game. He is 1-1 this postseason with 2.77 ERA and 16 Ks.
The Nationals opened as -125 favorite and there has been some movement to -135 in some books-- showing some SHARP action. Back the Nats tonight.
GOOD LUCK AT THE BOOKS! CHEERS!
