Quad City Softball Team To Host Bags Fundraiser

You know you love to throw them at tailgates, BBQs, bar patios, and backyards-- let's throw some bags and raise some money for the Quad City Firebirds 09 team.

The Quad City Firebirds is a 12 and Under girl's fastpitch softball team based out of the Quad Cities.  The team travels all over to compete in the best tournaments in the Mid West and have their eyes set on a National Tournament in the Spring of 2022.

To compete at that level, the girls fundraise.  They have elected to have a bags tournament on October 23rd and Grease Monkey's Sports Bar and Grill in Colona, Il.  The entry fee is $20 per person (if you come alone, you can surely find a partner) or $40 for your already assembled team.

If you walk away with the championship, you will also earn $200-- that is the first place prize.  The second place team will be rewarded $100, and the third place team will get $50.  Not too bad of a purse on a fun filled Saturday.

The tournament will begin at noon and is expected to last about four hours.  Grease Monkeys will have the bar and grill set up to keep you hydrated and well fed.

Players of the team will be selling 50/50 tickets-- meaning you could walk away with even more cash.  Or at least win your entry fee money back and a little extra cash for your pocket.

The Iowa Hawkeyes are on a BYE this week, so can't imagine a better thing to do with your free time this weekend than to throw some bags to benefit a great team and an excellent group of girls.
