As the Quad Cities eagerly awaits opening day at Modern Woodmen Park on May 11th, GM Joe Kubly has been busy making additions to his staff.

Recently, Joe hired Kyle Kerchval to be the new voice of the River Bandits and Manager of Relations and Season Tickets.

Although only 25, Kyle already has a very impressive resume.  Kyle graduated from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University in 2018 where he was a reporter and analyst at both the Walter Cronkite Sports Network and the PAC-12 Network.

After graduation, Kercheval (Ker-shh-VUL) returned to his home state of Colorado to take on the duties of Director of Broadcasting in Sales for the Grand Junction Rockies-- a Colorado Rockies affiliate in the now defunct Pioneer League.

Now, Kyle will call the midwest his home.  More importantly, the Quad Cities.  We got to meet Kyle on Thursday on ESPN 1170 AM's "Don't Hassle Us We're Local".  Here is a clip from the show.

Kyle brings a lot of passion for baseball and sports and his enthusiasm jumps into the listeners ears.  Not only is Kyle a long time fantasy baseball and football player, he is the self-appointed youngest Tom Petty, Journey, and STYX fan.

We are really excited to get to know Kyle this season as we hope he joins us as much as his time allows him on the air to talk about the River Bandits and so much more.

The River Bandits are slated to play a 120-game schedule, with 60 games at home and 60 on the road. The season opens on the road Tuesday, May 4, 2021, against the South Bend Cubs. The River Bandits home opener will be on Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at 6:30pm CT against the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
