This is a stat you always want to see: incomes are up and poverty is down in the Quad Cities!

According to new data released on Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau, the median household income, "a closely watched measure of well-being", rose in the Quad-Cities,  from $52,590 to $54,173.

Meanwhile, the poverty rate fell! Now, 43,000 people remain below the poverty line in the QCA, which is 11,000 fewer than the previous year. The Quad-Cities poverty rate was 11.6 percent last year, down from 14.5 percent.
