Iowa came out a little flat in their game against the DePaul Blue Demons on Monday night.  A 13-0 run extended to a 16-2 lead at the first media timeout.

"Maybe I should have called timeout at 10-0.  Maybe 6-0," said Iowa Head Coach Fran McCaffery.

DePaul, on the other hand, shot 63% from in the first half and 61% overall.  DePaul (4-0) had 4 players come into Carver averaging double figure in points scored.  3 Blue Demons scored in double figures on Monday-- including a game high 25 from Guard Paul Reed.

"We have to recognize that there is a difference between playing hard and competing," said Coach McCaffery is post game. "I thought we played hard; we didn't compete."

"It's one game.  Yes, it was really disappointing.  We expect more from ourselves, and the critical thing is not to blame yourself or each other, but take collective responsibility as coaches and players.  It's all of us," said McCaffery.
