Iowa AD Barta and Learfield To Meet With Dolphin?

The University of Iowa Athletic Department announced on Friday that basketball announcer, Gary Dolphin, had been suspended indefinitely for comparing a Maryland basketball player to King Kong during the televised Maryland at Iowa basketball game on Tuesday night.

AD Gary Barta did not make himself available for comment on Friday night.

Gary Dolphin, earlier in the season, had been suspended for 2 games for criticizing the style of play of an Iowa basketball player and the lack of recruiting from head coach Fran McCafferty during a hot microphone.

Obviously, there was LARGE outcry from the Iowa faithful.

And other media types came to the defense of Gary Barta...

Now, supposedly Learfield and AD Barta are going to meet with Dolphin today.  Will they make a statement for Hawkeye Nation? Who knows.

This keeps getting weirder and weirder.  It's all over nonsense, too.
