Yesterday was the anniversary of the debut of Jackie Robinson in 1947 for the Brooklyn Dodgers.  The importance of that debut was that Robinson became the first black player to play in the major leagues in the 20th century, aster decades of racial segregation.

He would go on to win the Rookie of the Year that season and follow that up with a NL Most Valuable Player Award in 1949.

Jackie Robinson was elected into the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first appearance on the ballot in 1962.

Every year, when there isn't a global pandemic like the COVID-19, Major League Baseball has Jackie Robinson Day and EVERY player wears number "42"-- Jackie Robinson's number.  "42" is retired by EVERY MLB team in the league.

Yesterday on "Jeopardy!", the show runners paid homage to Jackie Robinson by putting in an answer under the category UNIQUE COLLEGE COURSES.

A young lady did not get the question right.  On probably one of the worst days to get it wrong.
