Fantasy football fanatics, more importantly daily fantasy football players and daily fantasy sports enthusiasts, have been waiting for this announcement for quite some time.

Since the legalization on gambling in the state of Iowa, daily fantasy sports (DFS) players have been asking us when will DFS be allowed in Iowa.

On Thursday at our live show at the Wild Rose Casino in Clinton, IA the ESPN 1170 AM and THE QUAD CITIES ONLY LOCAL SPORTS TALK RADIO SHOW, "Don't Hassle Us We're Local" had a representative from Draft Kings on as a guest.

On air, Stephen Miraglia announced that he just received a text announcing that Iowa and DraftKings have reached an agreement and that DFS would be allowed for players very soon.

How soon?  Today.  Draft Kings released a statement today regarding DFS for Week 8 of the NFL season...

"In time for Week 8 games of NFL season and NBA tipoff, DraftKings is thrilled to show the Hawkeye State why we have been able to establish ourselves as a premier destination for sports fans who want skin in the game," said Matt Kalish, chief revenue officer and co-founder of DraftKings.  "We are excited to offer Iowans our daily fantasy products, featuring the largest prize pools you'll find anywhere in the world.'

Listen to Stephen talk about DraftKings here:
