Former Cedar Rapids Kennedy prep and current Iowa Hawkeye football player, Dalles Jacobus (66), performed a song he wrote in honor of the greatest tradition in college football.  This will be the third season that the University of Iowa Hawkeye football team, fans and opposing team will wave to the children at the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital.

Dalles Jacobus said that this was his first song he has written in the video and, man, did he deliver.  KHAK 98.1 FM in Cedar Rapids had a nice post and we knew we had to share the video, too.

In fact, Dalles has given us permission to play the song on our show, Don't Hassle Us We're Local!  Hopefully, we get to hear it at Kinnick Stadium soon too!

The video of Dalles originally was posted on Kim Beyer Olson's Facebook page at the Beyer Bash (soon to be famous too) from this past weekend.

Lyrics are just awesome and we can't wait to play it for you on the show.

Our biggest fans are up above, yeah looking over our shoulders...

You see 'em waitin' patiently for the end of the first quarter...

When we wave to the kids that cannot play...

With a big smile on their face every football Saturday...

Yeah, we wave to help those kids let go...

Give the parents a little hope to bring those kids back home...

Yeah, we wave...

Check out the performance below:

Great job Dalles!

Hope to speak with you soon!

And GO HAWKS!
