The #1 wrestling team, the Iowa Hawkeyes, in the NCAA will host the #2 Penn State Nittany Lions on Friday night at 8:05 P.M. on Friday night and this dual will be standing room only.

Carver-Hawkeye Arena is listed at 15,500 at capacity and this meet has been sold out for months.  With standing room only ticket sales, Friday night's meet could push the "indoor" attendance record for a Division I NCAA wrestling meet (Penn State set the record of 15,998 at Bryce Jordan Center in 2018 versus Iowa).

Although Iowa leads the all-time series 27-10-2, Penn State has won the last 2 meetings-- including its last two visits to Iowa City, 26-11, on January 20th, 2017.  In fact, the Iowa Hawkeyes have not beaten the Nittany Lions in almost 5 years.  The last Hawkeye dual win was 18-12 at Penn State on February 8, 2015.

Friday is just the second time Iowa and Penn State are meeting as #1 and #2 in the NWCA Coaches' Poll.  The only other meeting was January 5, 1986-- which Iowa won 35-5.

CAMBUS service from Hancher begins 90 minutes prior to the start of the dual, and will run continuously until 30 minutes after the end of the dual, or until all riders have been accommodated.

The drop-off and pick-up areas are the CAMBUS shelter in the Hancher Auditorium commuter parking lot, and along Newton Road near the East entrance of Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
